Upgraded Bathroom Remodel in Tacoma

This project turned an outdated primary bathroom from Tacoma into a bright, spa-like retreat. The original space was too heavy, with wood cabinetry, dark tiles, big framed mirrors, basic fixtures, a huge jetted tub, and outdated details everywhere.

The homeowners wanted something timeless and luxurious that felt bigger and more functional. Now, it boasts natural stone, custom cabinetry, a freestanding tub, a double shower system, top-notch brass fixtures, and a sleek look overall.

Before Conditions vs. Scope of Work

The Vanity Area features dark stained oak cabinetry, tile countertops with integrated sinks, large wood-framed mirrors, and builder-grade lighting.

The Tub contained a large built-in jetted soaking tub, but the bulky platform surround makes it look heavy.

For the Shower, it's a traditional enclosed shower with limited natural light and outdated tiles and fixtures.

Overall, the space uses a warm brown color scheme, has a dated design, and lacks a spa-like feel.

The Bathroom Transformation

The bathroom transformed after tearing everything down. We got rid of the old vanity, jetted tub, traditional shower, and dingy floors.

For the vanity, we went with fancy wood cabinetry that had brushed brass handles. The tops were made from quartz that looks like marble, along with undermount sinks. Above these, we put custom mirrors with nice lights.

We swapped the big tub setup for a cool freestanding tub and a floor-mounted filler. This made the space feel larger and let in more natural light.

Lastly, we did an oversized walk-in shower with frameless glass. It has two showerheads, one overhead and the other hand-held, plus cool tile niches and glass shelves.

Key Design Features

The remodel aimed to create a spa-inspired atmosphere using bright finishes, natural materials, and lots of natural light.

A stunning freestanding tub acts as the room’s centerpiece, making the space look bigger and enhancing water flow around the room.

There's also a custom walk-in shower with two stations, boosting both luxury and convenience.

Plus, the furniture-style vanity offers tons of smart storage without skimping on style; it stays current yet classic.
